HUGE congratulations to @アレックス・オノルド on his recent free-solo (rope-less ascent) of freerider (5.13a) on El Capitan! Wow. Beyond bold, historic, scary, terrifying, insane, athletic as hell and something that requires tremendous strength and presence of mind. I shot this photo here of Alex back in 2009 while he was training for a speed ascent up the Salathe, something he did day's later. I remember him hinting way back then about soloing El Cap, my only reaction was how terrifying that would be. I'm truly happy for you Alex, but more happy that you are safe!
