Truly saddened today by President Trump's decision to withdraw the US from the #parisagreement. Having worked first hand on stories that are on the front lines of climate change, I can say with experience that we are living in an ever changing environment that we are collectively affecting and the situation is only becoming more desperate. I've swam in coral reefs that were thriving 10 years ago and are now completely dead. Driven through places so polluted in gray smog with warning signs on the road that say "High Pollution Zone: Do not exit your vehicle for the next 20 miles". Stood on countless talus fields around the world that were covered in glacial ice mere years ago. We are impacting this planet. @discoverychannel recently posted a beautiful photo of earth with a quote by Wendell Berry that simply said "The earth is what we all have in common". So simply put. I listened to President Trumps speech in its entirety today, he continually stated that this withdrawal is part of an ongoing effort to bring back jobs to the US and to make the country great again. I'm all for those goals, sincerely, and in fairness I believe any leader in any country should make such things a priority for its citizens. But there are appropriate ways to achieve such things. The intent of this agreement was to pool the world into a unified direction for change, to move forward together and be accountable. I sincerely feel that this is a devastating decision littered with negative repercussion and I'm disheartened. I will continue to hope. I will continue to do my part, in anyway that I can. It's going to take us all and I hope you will make the effort as well.
