Surfline Lead Forecaster @kwallissurfline: This #PurpleBlobOfTheWeek was thanks to a recent high pressure/low pressure combo that developed in the Southern Ocean and eventually made its way into the Tasman Sea and then the Southwest Pacific. Swell from this storm has already impacted the Gold Coast, Sydney, Fiji and Tahiti, setting up great waves for all of those regions. Hawaii is up next, with the largest SSW swell of the season (thus far) en route. California will even see a few fun waves from it to close out May ?
