Detail of sand covered scales on the elusive and incredibly cool #Pangolin, photographed in South Africa's #kalahari. Sadly the pangolin is THE most illegally trafficked animal in the world, in nearly all cases for their #keratin scales; a substance that is identical to Rhino horn, human finger nails and found on many other mammals around the world. It's a sad and ignorant consequence for such a remarkable creature. Sincerely grateful to have seen and experienced these moments in the wild with this very special animal. @danahrichardson @kosie_lategan @tswalu
