Tanks on a training mission cross a river near Seoul. Equipped with chemical, biological, and now nuclear weapons, the North has targeted Seoul, South Korea's capital, with hundreds of artillery pieces. South Korean and U.S forces - with superior air and tank power - train constantly to repel an attack. I photographed the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone), the heavily armed border between North and South Korea, on the 50th anniversary of the Korean War. Nothing has improved since the @ナショナルジオグラフィック story was published in 2003, and now tensions have reached an all time high.
