Yesterday I gave a welcome speech in front of 500 talented lawyers-to-be, at the Mock Trial National Championships. I'm obviously not a lawyer so that makes no sense -- but when I was at UCLA, I was on the Mock Trial Team and won the first All American Best Witness award for our college. My former coach asked me to help represent LA in our city's first time hosting the tournament. I was surprised, honored and terrified - yes, I'm an actress but have never written and given a speech before and it was scary. But that's where all the good stuff lives, the growth. We choose to give of ourselves despite the fear and we find ourselves climbing to the next level of what's always been waiting for us.
