An important decision I made was to resist playing the victim. Blaming where I was in life on this or that. Putting fault on my past, my struggles and all together having a mental thought of how "unfair" life was. I was stuck in a rut that I never thought I could get out of. I thought that these were the cards that life handed to me so I sat in dissatisfaction with my life and with myself. The day I realized that I am in charge of how I will approach my life and the outcome of it, that things will turn out the way they will turn out because of me and nobody else, that was the day I knew I would be a happier and healthier person. That was the day that I stopped playing the "sufferer" and started to take control. I didn't make excuses. I showed up to life with a different mindset no matter the weather. every. single. day. That was the day I knew I could truly build a life that mattered. Even my mistakes and struggles turn into lessons that I openly accepted and learned by. And then there after that day, everything else in a weird way, completely and perfectly fell into place.
