Hey guys happy Sunday! This week's post is from Nuala, an 8-year-old campaigner in Oregon, proving there is no such thing as being too young to get involved! (By now you probably know that every Sunday I donate my social media to my @YearsofLiving team to talk about carbon pricing!! Please take a second to read this post!) "There’s a lot of excitement right now around #PutAPriceOnIt in #Oregon!! The state might be the closest in the country to passing a new law to limit climate pollution, and would invest that money back into clean energy for all Oregonians. Young people, like Nuala, are helping drive the campaign to pass the bill, speaking up, telling their parents to contact state leaders to protect their future, and inspiring ALL of us to act on climate. 8-year-old Nuala from Lake Oswego, Oregon has been concerned about the environment from a very young age. Her mother distinctly remembers that at 3 years old, she announced that what she cared about "most in this world is that there is room for beauty to grow." Nuala treasures the ocean and longstanding forests; she views the natural world as our most important and fragile resource. Nuala first learned about the detrimental effect humans can have on the environment when she learned about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, a large concentration of plastics, chemical sludge and other debris consolidated into one spot in the Pacific Ocean that some scientists say could be as large as the size of Texas. That’s when Nuala truly became an activist. Now, Nuala has joined the #PutAPriceOnIt campaign, because she believes climate change is the biggest threat to our environment - and way of life. Nuala wants other kids to get involved. “We must all work together to protect the future world we want to live in.” Join Nuala and many others for a Youth Lobby Day in Salem, Oregon next Wednesday, April 12th to #PutAPriceOnIt. RSVP at http://www.ourclimate.us/oregon"
