One of my favorite neighborhood trees at dawn (can anyone enlighten me on what type of tree it is, because I love it so!). This morning, another of my neighborhood favorites, a big wide-branched oak, encountered a tragedy as its most expansive and beautiful section broke off into the street. It's so old and massive that just that one branch blocked and shut down the entire street. It was one of my favorite neighborhood landmarks and I couldn't bear to take its picture, so I'm sharing a still-standing local favorite instead. A reminder to enjoy and appreciate the little things in your daily life because impermanence is the only thing that's permanent.
