early this morning I hopped a train bound for the city - watching through the great windows as the watercolor landscape whizzed by in all but a blur - I scooped a few bunches of blooms as I rounded the corner to the city cottage - pale hyacinths intoxicatingly perfumed and spectacular little spray roses green petaled with blush centers - all in an effort to chase away the April gloom - the kettle is warming, faithful cups of earl grey on rotation and the hum of Edith Piaf in the background - recently lots of you have been asking where I find inspiration - on these grey spring days it's a little harder to find - but in thinking about it, I suppose it comes at the core from learning - something new or learning to see something in a new way - it is an insatiable curiosity and the desire to keep moving forward - the idea that there is always some new question, or problem to be solved, or new flavor to try - not always massive steps either more often than not its macro movements - but many littles make a much #cottagefarm #eleganceintheeveryday #aprilshowers
