Here's a vet practice that gives Certificates of Bravery to the cats that they declaw.
Yep, pretty appalling isn't it. In fact the cat in the photo had to go back to this vet 10 days later for problems with his paws. ???
It is one of the thousands of vet practices in America that declaws cats for profit, tells cat owners that there are no negative consequences to declawing, tells them that it's best to declaw their cat when it is younger, and recommends Purina's Yesterday's News cat litter for their declawed cats.
They say that they declaw cats "a lot" and "quite frequently" and charge $218 for laser declaw or $167 for scalpel declaw. They say that laser declaw is "less pain, easier recovery, and less bleeding." Purina, please help us educate these willfully ignorant cat owners that cats need their claws for their health & well being so that they won't harm their cat's health by getting them declawed. ?
(Purina is now responding back to us about this issue with comments like this, "We defer to the cat's owner and their trusted veterinarian to make any health decisions for their pet.")
FYI Purina, declawing isn't a "health decision" and most vets who declaw cats can't be trusted to tell the truth about it.
Cat owners are being deceived to think that declawing is ok when it's NOT!??
Purina, you are choosing to look the other way and just profit from this horrific cruelty and injustice.
Please do the right thing and help us with this important cat cause.
