I'm real drained and disheartened from this cause to help end declawing. Every day I am sent photos and stories of declawed cats suffering.????
I'm sad that these BIG organizations like AAHA, AaFP, @cornellvet, Mars Inc, and @Purina aren't doing their part to help us in any way to end this animal cruelty and abuse. They all don't want to do or say anything that will antagonize the vet$ they have financial interests in.
This photo of a declawed cat was posted on Instagram by a vet practice with the caption, "Kitty was doing fantastic after surgery. If you MUST do it, it's best when they're young."
The photo had 46 "likes" on it. ?
Some of you are writing @purina @friskies and are actually getting answers back from them. Thank you for your efforts.
Here is what they told a supporter this week, when she asked them about this issue.
@Purina 's response, "While we defer to the cat's owner and their trusted veterinarian to make any health decisions for their pet, we will share your post with our team."
"We understand your concerns. Like you, we're passionate about pets and only want the best for them. We recognize that this is a very emotional issue, and opinions and laws vary by city and country. At Purina, our focus is on supporting all cats with the nutrition and litter that the individual cat needs, as well as finding all cats a loving home."
????? PURINA KNOWS THIS INHUMANE PROCEDURE IS BEING DONE BY THESE "TRUSTED" VET$ AS A FIRST OPTION AND MONEY MAKER, BUT CHOOSES TO STAY SILENT ON IT AND JUST PROFIT FROM IT? ?
Yes, Purina makes millions of ?? because most pro-declaw vets use, sell, and recommend their Yesterday's News cat litter for their cats with their amputated toe bones and claws. Declawing is NEVER a health decision, most vets who declaw cats can't be trusted because they are harming cats, and declawing is NOT an emotional issue, it's wrong!
We need more people on board to show a massive public outcry about this injustice.
