Dear @Purina @friskies We are asking you to help us educate the public as to why cats need their claws and why declawing always harms the health and well being of a cat.
Today I'm real sad because I was told about what you wrote to one of my supporters who was concerned about your lack of caring about our important cat cause. This is what you said to her, "Thanks for sharing your concerns with us Melissa. We defer to the cat’s owner and their trusted veterinarian to make any health decisions for their pet. We will share your post with our team." ?????
Purina, you make MILLIONS of dollars from the sale of Yesterday's News cat litter for declawed cats. Around 5000 cats a day are declawed in America.
These photos were posted on the facebook page of one of the thousands of your "trusted" declawing vets who recommend and buy your Yesterdays News for their declawed cats. You have a mutually beneficial relationship with them since they bring you lots and lots of $ from amputating the toe bones and claws on cats and kittens.?
This vet in Michigan uses a scalpel to slice off the toe bones on kitten$ and cat$ and says that declawing isn't humane. They charge $167 for a neuter/declaw and your Yesterday's News litter is included in that package. They tell cat owners on the phone that they like to do the declaw$ at 2-3 months of age so not to wait. They say the cat's paws will just be "sore for 5 days."
How can we trust YOU when you say that you have an animal's best interest at heart at your company, when these declawing vet$ don't have a cat's best interest at heart yet you support them???
