For the site-specific participatory installation “Unwritten Rules Cannot Be Broken,”Yangjiang Group created a utopian zone inside of the Guggenheim that is composed of a Chinese garden, a tea gathering area and the artists’ calligraphic works. Visitors are invited to drink tea and relax on the simple plywood furniture. The “floating” Chinese garden is visible on the balcony outside the gallery and recalls architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s original drawings when designing the museum, in which vibrant greenery covers its façade. For Yangjiang Group, practicing calligraphy is an everyday act, along with drinking tea, playing soccer, or enjoying communal dinners. @xiaoyuxiaoyuxiaoyu #xiaoyuweng
