Happy Sunday! This is one of my favorite posts from our #putapriceonit campaign so far (written by Kyle Kilkenny.) Please take a second to read this post! It's five minutes out of your Sunday that could help you make a difference, THE DIFFERENCE, the world needs!!! "As the son of a lifelong public servant, I joined #PutAPriceOnIt to do my fair share to combat the effects of climate change. Since joining the campaign and talking with my fellow global citizens, I've been deeply perturbed by how our negligence of the environment has not only destroyed forests, the polar ice caps, and so many God-given beauties, but how it has stifled the growth of entire communities.
As a lifelong Long Islander and a proud New Yorker, I've watched first-hand the damage natural disasters like Superstorm Sandy can afflict, regardless of your identity. Climate change is an all-American issue, which transcends the identities of race, gender, sexuality, class, creed, and ability. Through putting a price on carbon, we're not only acknowledging the intersectional perils of climate change, but how we all can work together to build a sustainable future.
Since hosting the campaign's successful kickoff event at Fordham University, I'm now working to facilitate an environment where millennials can come together and take action through the power of writing and creating art.
