Photo by @Cristina Mittermeier. A playful Steller sea lion comes right up to my camera to say hello. Every winter, large groups of these large sea lions arrive to the Salish Sea on the coast of British Columbia. First the males arrive on their rocky haul outs and await patiently for the females to join them several weeks later. On this day, I snorkeled close to them and was rewarded by this fun show of whiskers.
