Photo by @Tim Laman. Flying over the Mamberamo Basin in West Papua, Indonesia in Dec 2016, it was a heart-warming experience to see the vast areas of rivers and rain forest that are still pristine. As this huge river cuts through bends and changes its course, it leaves behind oxbow lakes on either side. Home to many birds-of-paradise and a vast diversity of other species, these remaining tropical wilderness areas are so important to our planet!
