I was waist deep in a river watching this standing wave form. This was the first time I ever slowed the camera shutter down to create something we might call "abstract." 30th of a second handheld. 11 years ago it just felt like a foolish mistake, but I look back now and it's easily one of my favorite ways to shoot.
