Tojinbo: Suicide Cliffs (13/14) — A series of dynamic cliffs’ rocks on the Sea of Japan and a well-know place to commit suicide. Due to the reason, many people visit there as if they had been the pilgrims, often to feel and share the sense of the ordeal of life, especial as the economic disparity is growing in recent years in the country. In fact, suicide is one of the gravest issues in Japan. However, the government and media are very behind to deal wit it for the solution. Meanwhile, Tojinbo itself, the suicide rate is decreasing for several years, due to the local volunteers’ effort. The caption of this image: Rosaries at Eiheiji Temple near Tojinbo.
