This is a man in prayer. He is praying for peace.

He and his fellows were shot at with rubber bullets, concussion grenades, tear gas canisters and were doused with mace-laced water in sub freezing temperatures.

In spite of this foul mistreatment and the outright assault on his human rights, he remains peaceful, loving, dignified and in prayer.

When you go home to your families for Thanksgiving, know that this man will be praying for peace for his family, his people, for our water, and for our future generations. His life and livelihood are at risk over many things we take granted. I wish him safety.

I will be returning to Standing Rock to stand with him, and will be personally delivering supplies to help keep his fellow water protectors warm and fed.
