Hope ~ Former child soldiers, each abducted by the LRA (Lord's Resistance Army) as children, each having lost a leg in conflict, play together on crutches at the Rachele Centre in Lira, Northern Uganda, a centre for children in vulnerable situations. Fortunately, such tragic events are slightly less than a decade ago, however we cannot forget the countless young boys around the world, forced into war, or young girls, such as those abducted by Boko Haram, still missing since April 2014, in Nigeria. ~ Unpublished, photographed for National Geographic on June 8, 2005
