Five years ago my old friend @angusstone_ and I shot a little super 8 film to help bring attention to the Protect Our Coral Sea Campaign. The campaign was successful: a large portion of the Coral Sea and other marine environments around Australia were protected under the then Labor government. Unfortunately, with a change of government and against scientific advice, the marine sanctuaries were reviewed all over again and the recently released Federal Government-commissioned report recommends a significantly reduced Coral Sea marine park.
Obama created the largest protected marine environment on the planet...
My dream is for Australia to have one of the biggest marine sanctuaries in the world. Let's encourage the Australian federal and state governments to stop procrastinating. This is a blatantly obvious one.
