You guys are pure magic... Pure, pure magic. Chose this photo because I look so restful and at peace which is the opposite of what I'm feeling right now - money worries are tough! I've never worried much about finances in my life. I've been content being poor and content making money, but no matter which side I've stood on, I've never had much at stake in the past. There is a new kind of pressure involved that I'm not used to. We have employees that need to be cared for and loans that need to be paid off and contractors and vendors and builders and so many puzzle pieces that are all hanging on me providing what we need. It's a lot. It's a lot, but it's a luxury problem to have. Back in the day when I used to teach a couple of classes a week on the beach I never could have imagined one day building a studio from the ground up, having a big staff and so much on my shoulders. Big dreams come with big details to figure out! No matter how tough it gets, it's a blessing that I am able to sit here with these worries and share them with you. It's a blessing that I'm here, in this, learning the hard way. I so, so appreciate your beautiful offerings to support us (I was crying over every comment coming in yesterday) but I wouldn't feel comfortable asking for this kind of help. We are not sick, we're not suffering, and we are still putting food on our table at home at the end of the day. Fundamentally, we are ok. I wouldn't be comfortable receiving donations (even though it's the most beautiful initiative) because there are so many people out there in real need - people that can't pay their medical bills and that have to send their kids to school without lunch every day. Thankfully, we don't have those worries and I think with effort and a sprinkle of trust... We will make it through.
