Should we be afraid of the rise of artificial intelligence? With each passing year, AI is becoming more and more advanced. Some of these super-intelligent machines can think a million times faster than the human minds that built them. Researchers show no signs of slowing down, but should they? “The concern is that we will build machines that are so much more competent than we are, that the slightest divergence between their goals and our own could destroy us,” says neuroscientist Sam Harris. “We only have one chance to get the initial conditions right.” What do you think?
