The energy that is released out of the barrel is something surfers refer to as the ‘spit’. Here, surfers and boogie boarders push through the spit and position themselves for the next wave. When Pipeline is pumping, it is available to just a handful of the best surfers in the world. I sat there in awe as surfers like @ジョン・ジョン・フローレンス, @sunnygarcia, @ジェイミー・オブライエン @donkeyshow, @haynsupahman, @ケリー・スレーター and a few others not only survived the wave, but they owned it, danced on it, toyed with it and produced pure poetry on a surf board. #gifted athletes and nerves of steel! #followme on @paulnicklen to see more of my favorite images from this #assignment. #surf #surfing #adventure #pipeline #gratitude #smile #love #beauty
