‘Most travellers put Esfahan and Shiraz on their Iranian itineraries, but too few visit the town of #Kashan between Tehran and Esfahan. I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the town's traditional 19th-century houses, which are built around courtyards and have interiors resplendent with stained glass, intricate stucco work, inlaid mirrorwork and muqarnas (ornamented honeycomb vaulting). This shot shows the extraordinary decorated ceiling of the reception hall of #brujerdihahouse, a merchant’s home built in 1857 that is now a museum.
