This weekend’s #lpInstaTakeover is from #LonelyPlanet writer, @maxwellvirginia who covers the Middle East. Here she is in #Istanbul, on a side street off the grand boulevard of İstiklal Caddesi in Beyoğlu – the hub of the modern metropolis – while she was researching and writing the current edition of LP’s #İstanbul city guide. ‘I’ve spent decade travelling through the Middle East and can’t imagine any other job that could be as richly rewarding. I’m often asked to nominate my favourite destination in this magical part of the world, and after rattling through a long list of contenders I always eventually settle on İstanbul, a city that I visit every year to keep up with its ever-changing culture.
