New York’s #HudsonValley fulfills its promise as an escape: verdant hills, roadside farmstands, hawks and eagles overhead. But what of the city itself? After a long steady decline, Hudson has seen a remarkable and elegant transformation in the last 30 years, thanks in no small part to the influences of a much larger city 120 miles to the south. “Hudson felt like a chic little city, albeit gritty at the edges and hippie at its heart,” Amy Thomas writes in @nytimestravel. Amy, who visited with her husband and 10-month-old, fell for the city’s mix of Federal, Victorian and Queen Anne architecture and amazing food, from cheese shops and taco trucks to James Beard-award-nominated restaurants.
