Inside the Miratus Center in Chacrinha, a #favela on the western outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, there are 4 gleaming, regulation-size badminton courts. Until recently, few Brazilians had ever heard of #badminton, let alone played it. But come August, 2 Miratus players — 19-year-old Ygor Coelho de Oliveira (@co3lho12), ranked No. 62 in the world, and 20-year-old Lohaynny Vicente, ranked No. 72 — will be the first Brazilian badminton players to compete in the @オリンピック. They owe much of their success to Ygor's father, who built the Miratus Center by hand. Because of him, on any given afternoon, about 200 local boys and girls now play there.
