Photo by @RalphLeeHopkins Curious polar fox pup strikes a pose. We came across a fox den in a rocky outcrop on Edgeoya. There were two kits sunning themselves while the parents were out on the tundra hunting birds along the shoreline of a nearby pond. Subsistence trapping has not wiped out the wildlife in #Svalbard. Norway has done an excellent job managing this arctic wilderness, with large areas designated as National Park and Wildlife Preserves. (Canon 1DXII, 100-400mm, 1/800sec @ f5.6, ISO 1250)
