Photo @materas // It is said that Mt. Rainier creates its own weather because it is so much bigger than anything around it. Here is a perfect example as a lenticular cloud covers the summit of the 14,411' volcano. Lenticular clouds are stationary clouds that form over large mountains. The moist air condenses as it rises to get over, then evaporates after it passes and descends. While the cloud may not appear to be moving, the air is constantly flowing over the mountain. #lenticular #weather
