Got play dress-up as my favorite villain for my pal @joe.rubinstein 's new photography book: "Costumed Play"

I would never really call myself a cosplayer, but I fell in love with wearing extravagant character costumes when I was doing theater all the time. In college, I worked in my theater dept costume shop for years and grew to really enjoy building costumes, which is when I first had the thought to build my "spirit animal" character, Sailor Moon's costume.
Aside from Halloween, I had never thought of wearing costumes for characters whose role I wasn't playing myself. But I found that wearing her costume made me very happy. Even just making her costume filled me with joy.
Since then, I've collected quite a lot of my favorite character's most iconic looks. I'm fortunate enough to know a few very talented costume designers who can make perfect replicas. Like JoEllen of @fireflypath who made this gorgeous Cersei Lannister dress.
