I look at food in terms of its nutritional benefit and what it can do for my body rather than 'how many calories it contains'. I don't believe in counting calories and I don't believe in eliminating any single food group. Yes, fruit has sugar but it also contains fiber! If you have a 'trainer' telling you not to eat it because it's going to 'get you fat', please run for the hills ? Most disease stems from inflammation. Pineapple contains enzymes that help digest food. Cayenne pepper is an anti-inflammatory. Iodine helps regulates your thyroid and is essential when it comes to hormone function! Yes...you NEED salt in your diet and yes, I salt all of my food. Fruit doesn't cause weight gain and salt doesn't cause weight gain. What causes weight gain is over eating and restricting yourself to the point that you lose control and devour everything in sight when no one is around. Looking good is secondary and comes automatically. Having a healthy relationship with your body is ALWAYS the priority and marks the difference between people who can maintain their bodies for life and those who fall off the wagon from temporary 'quick fixes'!
