Woohoo! My very first sketch from Mauro @xlontrax Toselli's book, "100+1 Drawing Ideas for Sketchnoters and Doodlers." I decided to do his gorgeous and easy-to-follow tutorial for Milan's Cathedral, and I learned some new techniques and tricks in the process! This exercise was a perfect warm-up for developing in urban sketch styles. I highly recommend this book (and you can find it on Amazon)!! •
And speaking of urban sketches, I really love the beauty of the many inspiring and brilliant pieces that I've seen through my feed. In my experience, I've learned that having the right instrument makes a huge difference. And it's no secret that I love pens but when I find one that is a wonderful writer AND awesome sketch pen, it's a match made in heaven. The Aurora Optima Monviso 360 fountain pen is that one for me and is such a dream to create with. The ink flow is perfectly even, not overly wet yet not dry whatsoever. Not to mention the Auroloide material feels so nice and the black and white design is stunning. I couldn't be happier with this pen and it has spoiled me on all others. Also I am happy to report that the @shinola Sketchbook works beautifully with fountain pens and calligraphy pens alike. It's wonderful and I love the size of the paper. And of course my number one #edc companions, @thisisground Mod gear and Pen Case, accompany and house all my favorite tools of the trade.
