Hillary Clinton became the first woman in American history to clinch a major-party nomination for president after she won a majority of the pledged delegates and superdelegates. "Tonight's victory is not about one person, it belongs to generations of women and men who struggled and sacrificed and made this moment possible," she said at a victory party at Brooklyn’s Navy Yard in New York.
