This 15th c. manuscript belonged to Anthony of Burgundy, also know as "Le Grand Bâtard." (He was the illegitimate son of Philip the Good.) He was also an accomplished athlete, warrior, collector...and ladies man. The illuminated manuscript, which depicts the history of France, is a standout lot from our 25 May sale of the Maurice Burrus Collection. #manuscript
