A Kermode Bear prepares to take a nap under an old-growth tree grove in the Great Bear Rainforest of British Columbia after a feast on pink salmon. These bears are actually black bears but carry a rare recessive gene that turns their fur white. They are not albino. We are preparing to go back this summer on an expedition for @sea_legacy to continue our efforts to document a land-to-sea cross section of an ecosystem that needs full protection. #follow me on @Paulnicklen to see a lot more from this coverage.
