This is one of my favorite pictures of us that I took over two years ago. (I used a remote) I took it when I went through a tough time after the divorce. Jazzy was my savior. Snuggling with her was the most therapeutic thing to do at that time.

I am reposting this today for another reason. I finally heard back from my oncologist (after waiting for a month) with the result on my Oncotype test. Oncotype test is to assess the re-occurrence rate of the breast cancer to determine whether chemo is necessary or not. This test was not readily available several years ago so many breast cancer patients were given chemo therapy automatically. Thanks to the extensive researches being done, less breast cancer patients are having to go through chemo today. The doctor told me that I am going to be one of the fortunate ones to skip the chemo...only the surgery, radiation and hormone therapy. I cannot be grateful enough for the researches, public awareness and fund raising that have been done for breast cancer. Without them I would probably be having to go through the full blast of treatment. .

My wedding is going to be in August and I was preparing myself for not having hair on my special day. I was upset about possibly not being able to have a classic bun and all the side effects that would come with the treatment. But I made myself accept the consequences if it meant I was going to survive and live. I even looked through different wigs to wear down the isle...a pink wig, wavy wig, blond wig even, just trying to make the best out of the situation. And I was going to make it work no matter what. I cannot express enough how happy and grateful I am for being able to keep my hair and not feeling ill on my big day. ???❤️ #Grateful #BreastCancerAwareness
