I lay next to this mountain hare for several hours, high in the Scottish mountains of the Cairngorm National Park. Whilst I was trying not to get hypothermia the hare would sit close to me sleeping, occasionally waking to feed and then have a wash. Here he is shaking the snow off his paws after one such wash.
