April 16-24 is #NationalParkWeek – celebrating America's best idea with free admission to every National Park. In recognition of this great event (created by @nationalparkservice and our conservation partner @goparks) we're highlighting a different National Park every day through April 24.

We end the week with the country's newest National Park: Pinnacles National Park in California. Established on January 10, 2013, Pinnacles is famous for its massive black and gold towers of rock – the remains of extinct volcanoes that erupted more than 20 million years ago. The park's caves, woodlands and canyons are teem with life, including 149 species of birds, 49 species of mammals and more than 400 species of bees. Thanks to the continuing work of the National Park Service and National Park Foundation, Pinnacles – and all of its fellow parks – are protected for generations to come. #FindYourPark #NPS100
