Behold: the new era of sustainability.
To every person who came out today to @MaterialsForTheArts in Long Island City at 8AM to celebrate sustainability and fashion: Being in the room with you this morning was so exciting. There was so much energy and creativity and joy. And this is the paradox of climate change. When I read the science, my heart is in my throat. When I meet people doing the work to sustain people and planet, I am elated.
I have to continue to remind myself that sustainability is joyful, the work and the results have nothing to do with sacrifice or suffering. The work is building community, is sharing, is sustaining life... there is nothing better.
