From @jenpeedom : "Early on in the process of planning the shoot for the film, we decided it was important to train some local Sherpas to work with our crew as cameramen. Hugh Miller, the Australian DOP and I went over ahead of the main shoot and gave Nawang and Nima cameras and taught them how to use them. My expectations weren’t high, but they completely blew me away. Best film students I’ve ever had. These guys shot some of the most important shots in the film. I’d recommend them to anyone." Jennifer Peedom is an experienced climber, and has worked as a high altitude director on several expeditions including Discovery Channel’s six-part series EVEREST: BEYOND THE LIMIT. She has developed a strong friendship with Sherpa people over many years of working in the Himalayas since 2004, and these connections were key to the access granted in the making of #Sherpa. She's taking over our Instagram today in honor of the documentary, airing tomorrow at 9/8c as part of #ElevationWeekend on #Discovery!
