Mornings here on the edge of Lake Atitlán in Sololá, Guatemala smell like campfire thanks to locals starting the day’s cooking in their wood-burning stoves. This traditional Mayan village is dotted with adobe huts where inside, women shape hand-harvested heirloom corn into fresh tortillas while the men head out in wood canoes to fish.
