How do you make an opera about John F. Kennedy's last living hours? For @rvavrek, left, and the composer David T. Little, it was a theatrical challenge. For one, everyone knows how the story ends. Second, #JFK and Jackie Kennedy’s 12 hours in Dallas made for less than engrossing material: They spent most of their time in the bland Suite 850 of the Hotel Texas, asleep. But hindsight worked its uncanny magic, and David structured the narrative with outlandish dreamscapes, full of dire allusions to the characters’ pasts and futures, drawing out the darker regions of their psyches. “JFK” opens April 23 at the @fortworthopera. @avose took this photo of @rvavrek, a librettist, and David T. Little while on assignment in Fort Worth.
