Amanda Greene lives with her husband and dog in Danielsville, a small town in Georgia between Atlanta and Greenville, South Carolina. The moments that make up her personal photography — inspired by quiet, often offbeat, yet distinctly Southern moments — are often a short drive away in her Volkswagen. Amanda’s affinity for subjects close, quotidian and country was honed by a 17-year sojourn in California, where she worked on sound stages in Los Angeles. “They would hire some people to come make a set that’s supposed to look like a juke joint on the Delta — and I was so used to a lot of things being fabricated like that,” she told the @ニューヨーク・タイムズ #lensblog. What a comparison, she went on, “to be back here, where those types of things are real and are so much better in real life than on a sound stage in L.A., being put together by an art director.” To see more photos from Georgia by Amanda Greene, visit the link in our profile.
