Photo @クリス・バーカード // Vatnajökull Glacier. Massive would be an understatement as it covers 8% of the island country. A prehistoric behemoth in its own right, it also is home to some of the worlds most active volcanos which reside deep beneath the frozen ice-cap. Located in Skaftafell in Southern Iceland, trekking along the crest of Vatnajökull is a must. Just be sure to watch your step as the many fissures drop hundreds of feet into the abyss.
