Happy birthday to artist #MatthewBarney, creator of the #CREMASTERcycle—a self-enclosed aesthetic system consisting of five feature-length films that explore processes of creation. Our 2003 exhibition "Matthew Barney: The Cremaster Cycle” was the first occasion that brought together all of the interconnected components of his works—films, sculptures, drawings, and photographs—in one venue. The exhibition featured a site-specific installation designed by Barney and a five-channel video piece suspended from the rotunda.
