Where are all my East Coasters at?! The White Mountains may not be the biggest range in North America, but that doesn't make them any less gnarly. I grew up having many an epic in these mountains and to this day I'm thankful for (nearly) every one of them.
One highlight (that truly is world class) is the Presidential Traverse -- about a marathon in length and packed with some of the most amazing trail you'll find anywhere. If you're feeling brave check it out in winter... Just make sure you pack extra puffy jackets to deal with the sub zero temps and hurricane winds that love to descend on Mt. Washington.
