Photo by @andywcoleman // The Sally Lightfoot Crab is one of the many captivating species that inhabits the Galápagos Islands. The young crabs are dark in color and blend in with the black lava coasts of the islands. As they get older, they are a bright red or orange with stripes and spots and iridescent eyes. They get their name from their remarkable speed and agility which comes in handy as they scamper around the rocks in search of food. They were also one of the few species on the islands that were shy around humans. Taken while on an Expedition aboard the National Geographic Endeavor. #NatGeoExpeditions
