Happy 43rd birthday to Jenny Bindon! The former New Zealand goalkeeper played in two FIFA Women’s World Cup finals and two Olympic Football Tournaments. Bindon, who won 77 caps in a 10-year career, announced her retirement from international football in February 2014. ‘Football Ferns’ coach Tony Readings said Bindon had been a key cog in the set up of the New Zealand side. "Jenny has played a big role in the progression of our team and she has also raised the level of women's goalkeeping in New Zealand. Her legacy includes not only her achievements on the pitch but also setting a higher standard for future New Zealand goalkeepers to follow," he said.
